Position 1 narrowed the March 2024 claim from “two genders” to “two sexes”, reasoning that the first is a dispute about a word and the second a dispute about biology. That narrowing gave away ground that did not need giving. Both are two. It is settled, and it is stated here without the apparatus of an open question, because dressing a known thing as an open question is itself a concession.

The more useful observation is why this is a debate at all. There is no real divide here. Ask people and the answer comes back the same across countries, across parties, across almost every group anyone cares to sample. A disagreement had to be manufactured, and a manufactured one is cheap to run and it occupies exactly the space that money, energy, food and health would otherwise take up. That is what it is for. It is a detour, and anyone spending mental bandwidth on it has already paid the toll it was built to collect.

So it gets one entry and no more. A women’s category exists because female bodies compete against female bodies; remove that and the category has no function, and the athletes it was built for lose the thing it was built to give them. Anyone may create any category they like — start a league, write the rules, set the eligibility, compete. That is freedom and nobody here objects to it. What does not follow is a claim on the two that already exist.

Naming it correctly is not about winning the argument. Distress that is real gets treated when it is named correctly, and a framework that renames it as identity puts treatment further away. People actually getting better is the only outcome that matters, and it is on the other side of ending the detour, not on the other side of winning it.
